We are a family run business that takes pride in what we do. Originally established by Shaun in 2001, Shaun worked tirelessly to create a business built on his passion to turn clients garden dreams into a reality. After his sudden passing in March 2023 Callum has created a rebranded business that continues to follow Shaun’s aims at providing a personable and friendly service that inspires people to create their dream outdoor space.

Our work is always of the highest standard. What makes us different?
- We provide a basic hand drawn garden design to the majority of our clients on quotation, to help them visualise our ideas and how their outdoor space will look.
- We use only the best quality materials from a range of suppliers. This is something which we regularly spend time researching to ensure competitive prices and a range of options for our clients.
- We have extensive planting and horticultural knowledge, thanks to training from Shaun which ensures planting schemes and trees are chosen to compliment your garden and the different seasons. We are happy to provide low maintenance schemes that require little upkeep, or for our avid gardeners, we can help chose plants and perennial schemes aimed to suit your taste and colour palette.
- We work with you to tailor the garden to your exact specifications and needs, discussing things along the way and ensuring all colour schemes and material choices are fit for purpose.
- We love the idea of creating spaces that can be used for generations to come , therefore the different elements of our designs are well thought out to ensure maximum usage for things such as socialising and relaxing in your new outdoor areas.

OUR FOUNDER - SHAUN MALIK
After studying garden design with the open college of arts, Shaun trained at Holley Garden Design and eventually took the plunge to set up his own business Shaun’s Outside in 2001.
Shaun’s modular jigsaw principle that he created, allowed clients to use his professional support to construct their projects piece by piece from the drawing board upwards. During his 22 year career, his work was regularly featured in lifestyle magazines such as Yorkshire Life. Shaun had a passion for working organically and using environmentally friendly and reclaimed materials in both traditional and contemporary settings and this is an important ethos we aim to follow.
Shaun’s son in law Callum began working with him during Covid 2020 after taking a keen interest in landscaping. With the help of Shaun’s horticultural knowledge and Callum’s eye for detail, the two of them became quite the team and helped to push the business forward creating amazing outdoor spaces for clients.
Sadly in March 2023, Shaun was diagnosed with leukaemia and died just two weeks later. The business was his absolute pride and joy and the projects he created and client relations he built during his 22 years of business are a testament to his professionalism and passion for what he did. Shaun wanted nothing more than to see his amazing legacy continue to thrive, this is why Callum chose to set up our new business Shaun’s Outside & Sons in honour of Shaun and to continue to provide the same high standard and professionalism he always aimed for.
